Jeremiah 1:4-10

If you know much about Jeremiah, you know that he had a tough ministry!  Often called the weeping prophet because of his uphill climb to win people to God.  He ministered during the time of King Josiah and was the preacher to the nation of Judah after the destruction of Jerusalem.  God hasn’t called us to comfort, God has called us to be confident in Him.  As a result we will be conquers over death, as Christ was!

God’s Plan v.5 Turn to Jeremiah 29:10-14, God’s plan is for you to enjoy Him!

His plan for you is to help you point others to Christ!  Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

If you can be good at one thing, be good at making disciples who make disciples for Jesus!

Man’s Phobia v.6

2 Timothy 1:7 “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

Satan will always try to stop God’s glory from going further.

God’s Power v.7

Nothing is possible apart from the power and presence of God.  He alone gives you the power to do His work.  He may have asked you to do an impossible task, because it’s only possible through Him alone!

God’s Protection v.8

Safety last, Jesus First!  If I could have a do over at 18 years of age, I would have lived way more radical for Jesus!  I would have loved more people, longed to share Christ more, loved the Word more, and lived the Word more!  I would have risked it all for Christ reward!  He is our sovereign protector!  I’m not going to handle snakes or play in the road, but I’d risk it all for His glory, His honor, His Kingdom!

God’s Provision v.9 He gives us just what we need and at many times more than we deserve.

God’s Purpose v.10 1. He disciplines those He loves.  Hebrews 12:11 “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”2. He destroys barriers. 3. He deliverers and disciples many to delight in Him.
