The Deity of Christ (1:1-2)

John 1:1 and Gen 1:1 are so parallel here. It shows that absolute time, space, matter- all begin with Christ! We know Jesus is God, one of the three of the Trinity. We see this in Gen. 1:26 “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image…” This is very clear that Jesus was present, in fact verses 3-5 show His work! The word Immanuel means, God is with us!

The Word- the Trinity, One God, three persons, has always been. Christ revealed Himself to earth, yet He’s always been God! We have the greatest gift, a relationship with God!

The Development of all Things Through Christ (1:3-5)

Col. 1:15-17 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

The One Who Declared the Gift of Christ (1:6-8)

Many Will Decline the Gift (1:9-11)

Many Will Become Devoted to the Gift (1:12-13)

The Gift Who Dwelt Among Us (1:14-18)

Philippians 2:7-8 “but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”

Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
