Transformed by Christmas

Luke 2:8-20

Tackle Fear By One Method (Luke 2:8-14) The Shepherds were fearful! Have you ever been fearful? The angels shared this message with the lowest class of society. I believe this was to show that Christ came for all people. How should we tackle fear? Through the joyous hope-filled message of Jesus! He came to remove fear! 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

Take in the Message (Luke 2:15-18)

  a. They went (vv.15-16)
  b. They were in wonder (v.18) They were in awe! Many babies have been born to be kings, but only one King of Kings left His throne to become a baby! We must be in awe of this fact. He loves you this much! So much that He (God, Himself, would come as a man to die for us!)

How do we take in the message? Romans 10:9-10 states “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

Treasure the Messiah (Luke 2:19) The manger is pointless without the cross! We treasure Him because He is God, He suffered for us, and He came to save us.

Transformed After Meeting Him (Luke 2:20) They were transformed! They went away praising and glorifying God! Here is a good way to know if you are transformed. Do you have affections for Christ and the things of Christ? Do you love Him and His Church, His Word, To Worship Him, to Witness about Him, to be concerned about the welfare of people. If Christmas has transformed us, it will move us from death to life! John 5:24 shares this about transformation “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” Tackle Fear By One Method, Take in the Message, Treasure the Messiah, We will be Transformed After Meeting Him.
