“The Dangers of Legalism”

Monday, May 4, 2015 … John. 8:31-32 (ESV)

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my
word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free.”
Dear Lord, I pray that you give me a passion to learn more of your word each day, so that I may live a life based on your word.

                                      Tuesday, May 5, 2015 … John 8:34 (ESV)
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.
Father, I pray that you make me strong through my study of your word and your Holy Spirit in me, so that I will overcome my weakness to the sins that enslave me.

                           Wednesday, May 6, 2015 … I Corinthians 6:12 (ESV)
“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
Thank you Lord for providing the strength I need to overcome sin.

                                Thursday, May 7, 2015 … Romans 6:1-2 (ESV)
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
Lord, please convict me of those sins that are easy to think light of; remind me that in your eyes, there is no small sin.

                                  Friday, May 8, 2015 … Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works, and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Almighty Father, thank You for your conviction, provision, & direction as you guide us to work together to do Your will.

                                Saturday, May 9, 2015 … Galatians 5:1 (ESV)
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Dear Father, I thank you for the freedom from the slavery of sin that you’ve provided through your son, Jesus.
